On September 9, 2007 thousands of people attended the 5th Atlanta Turkish Festival at the Piedmont Park.

Rafet-El-Roman, a famous Turkish pop music singer, took the stage with Turkish and American flags in hand, greeted the crowd with peace and friendship messages and performed his most beloved songs to the audience.  State senator Curt Thompson presented a gift to honor El Roman and thanked to all organizers who put effort to make this festival possible to Atlantans.

While many of the vendors consider the festival one of the best opportunities for introducing themselves to people, this year's festival featured around 30 vendors from neighboring counties.

Among them came first the Turkiye stand  at which people were  fascinated  by the photos on Turkiye and Turkish culture. Many queued in front of the vendors to taste delicious food from Turkish cousine served along with Turkish coffee.

More than a thousand Ahiskan Turks participated in the festival and some performed Ahiskan dance in traditional costumes. The attendees were requested to fill raffle forms and the winners were awarded gifts including Turkish kilims, fine arts paintings, handmade Turkish porcelain, and a round trip ticket to Turkiye.

The drawings were conducted by FBI Georgia Director Gregory Jones, Atlanta Community Food Bank director Bill Bolling and Rafet El-Roman.
